Message from the President and CEO

Benjamin Franklin stated, “Energy and persistence conquer all things” – and Fiscal Year 2011 concluded with record accomplishments by Preferred Source workers thanks to the energy and persistence of the member agencies and supporters who equal ‘NYSID.’

We’re at an all-time membership high of 163 community rehabilitation programs and private sector business partners. The contracts we perform on created jobs for 6,575 New Yorkers with disabilities. Most important, those individuals earned $46 million in Preferred Source wages this past year. [see chart]

I’m proud that we worked together to find new ways to succeed in the often-uncertain government purchasing marketplace. And NYSID as an organization will never stop creating initiatives towards strengthening members’ competitive edge in support of jobs . We’re also testing the waters of private sector initiatives that will expand what we offer customers and create new employment options for New Yorkers with disabilities .

Please join me in acknowledging the team effort that is NYSID Preferred Source Solutions as we kick off Fiscal Year 2012 with renewed ‘energy and persistence!’
