Karen Toma of Center for Disability Services in Albany.

A 2011 Joslin Outstanding Performer, Karen has worked in many different employment situations through the Center’s vocational opportunities. She excels in mailing and other clerical duties, working on Preferred Source contracts for the NYS Insurance Fund, the NYS Department of Social Services and other state government agencies, and has grown from needing the constant supervision of an enclave setting to a more independent work environment.

When asked about how she felt being recognized through the 2011 Joslin Awards Program, Karen said, “It makes me feel good and that I have accomplished something.”
