NYSID’s Training and Information Program (TIP) provides specialized knowledge for rehabilitation professionals who take a forward-looking approach to their work and improving the lives of New Yorkers with disabilities.

TIP is committed to providing quality training and essential business information that meets our members’ needs — at no cost and in convenient locations across New York State

Our professional development opportunities span 20 different topics designed to help you leverage enhanced strategies for improving productivity, engaging employees, complying with employment law, creating new jobs, and much more.

The first TIP session of 2015 is the “Business Development Forum: Paradigms Revolution,” on February 25, presented by Brian Bateman, NYSID’s marketing manager, from 10am-3pm at the NYSID Training Center in Albany. The Business Development Forum will take place bimonthly throughout 2015 at various locations across New York State.

The second TIP session, “Employment Law Developments & What They Mean for Your Agency,” presented by John Bagyi, Esq., James Holohan, Esq. and John Ho, Esq., all of Bond Schoeneck & King, will take place on March 11 from 1-4pm at YAI, 460 West 34th Street, 11th floor, New York City from 1-4pm.

The next TIP session, “Assisting Supervisors with Creating an Environment of High Job Satisfaction,” presented by Sabrina Harmon, of SourceAmerica, will take place on March 17 from 9am-4:30pm at F.E.G.S., 315 Hudson Street, 9th floor, New York City.

NYSID offers on-site sessions for Preferred Source Contracting/Compliance and Regulations, which may be requested by members or associate members who are producing commodities and/or providing services through New York State’s Preferred Source Program.

We also remind new members and associate members that it’s mandatory for them to attend NYSID’s Member and Associate Member Orientation within six months of joining NYSID, and prior to receiving a NYSID contract. It is open to all staff interested in learning about the NYS Preferred Source Program.

To request this or other on-site sessions at your organization or company, just contact NYSID’s TIP Coordinator at 518-463-9706 or 1-800-221-5994.

In addition, NYSID’s Lending Library has many publications and resources available for loan. Please visit http://www.nysid.org/tip/lending-library.cfm to view all of the Lending Library books, CD’s, DVD’s, etc.

Best wishes for a successful 2015 as you go forward with TIP learning solutions.
