National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) Begins

Category: General — NYSID @ 6:06 pm

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), which raises awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the diverse individuals with disabilities who contribute to New York’s workforce. The 2015 NDEAM theme is: “My Disability Is One Part of Who I Am.”

“NYSID celebrates the efforts of our member agencies and corporate partners to help create employment opportunities for New Yorkers with disabilities,” said Ron Romano, president & CEO. “Our recent Annual Meeting and 12th Annual Joslin Awards Program provided incredible examples of how much New York State benefits by having a workforce that is inclusive of persons with disabilities.”

Please let us know about recognition events for your Joslin Outstanding Performers, so that NYSID staff may attend. We invite you to share with us any photos of recognition events for your Joslin Outstanding Performers or other news from your organization about the diverse individuals with disabilities who contribute to New York State’s workforce.

Thank you for your assistance and your continued support during NDEAM and throughout the year.
