Michelle Wolfe, Joslin Outstanding Performance Award Co-Recipient

Category: General — NYSID @ 6:15 pm

Michelle Wolfe, a food processing worker with The Arc of Madison Cortland/Alternatives Industry in Oneida, was named a co-recipient of the 2015 William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award at NYSID’s Annual Meeting at The Saratoga Hilton.

Ramonita Morales, a custodian with The Osborne Association in the Bronx, is her fellow Joslin Outstanding Performance Award recipient.

Michelle is a key player in The Arc’s prevocational program, working in the food processing department or cutting rags on NYSID Preferred Source contracts.

She can’t say enough about the food processing work she does for NYSID. “I like to be busy,” she says. Food processing is “active, keeps me moving, it’s more interesting than other jobs, and it pays better.”

Michelle also works at Oneida Savings Bank as a cleaner through an Arc community placement program. She loves the bank because they keep her busy and because she gets a sense of accomplishment when she sees that everything is clean and in its place.

NYSID’s annual Joslin Awards Program spotlights those who have overcome challenges and achieved personal success through employment. The Joslin Awards annually recognize employment excellence of New Yorkers with disabilities working on NYSID Preferred Source contracts.

Over the past 12 years, the Joslin Awards have chronicled the achievements of nearly 600 individual Outstanding Performers, honoring William B. Joslin’s unwavering commitment to Preferred Source employment opportunities.

Bill Joslin was Chief Executive Officer of Human Technologies Corporation in Utica, and served on NYSID’s Board of Directors for many years.
