Category: General — NYSID @ 3:15 pm

eBizDocs, a NYSID corporate partner, received the 2013 Nonprofit Business For-Profit Corporate Partner Award on November 22 from the Tech Valley Nonprofit Business Council (TVNBC) during a luncheon at The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center in Albany.

The award recognizes eBizDocs’ visionary leadership in improving the community through collaboration and support of nonprofit organizations.

The TVNBC, a joint initiative supported by the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber and The Chamber of Schenectady County, provides a forum for nonprofit member businesses to learn from and support each other; to address common issues and opportunities; to develop a unified voice for public and political relations; and to educate Chamber members and the public regarding nonprofits.

The awards recognize successful nonprofit organizations and outstanding community-minded individuals for positive contributions to the vitality of the region’s community. eBizDocs is recognized as a for-profit business that has successfully built partnerships with the nonprofit sector and has contributed significantly to the quality of life in the Tech Valley community through professional and civic activities or involvement.

Nominations for this award were solicited by the TVNBC from within the nonprofit community.

“We are honored to have been nominated for this award by several of the nonprofit organizations that we have had the pleasure of working with for years,” said Howard Gross, president of eBizDocs. “It is a privilege to support all of the work that these organizations do, and to work with all of the individuals that come to us through their many programs.”

By emphasizing abilities and skills, eBizDocs provides a supportive work environment for people from a diverse background. This includes individuals working through the Center for Disability Services Employment Opportunities Program and veterans who have been placed at eBizDocs through a variety of veterans service organizations, including the Albany Housing Coalition.

In FY 2013, eBizDocs employed 35 New Yorkers with disabilities on Preferred Source contracts. eBizDocs currently has 17 Preferred Source document imaging contracts with two NYSID member agencies, the Center for Disability Services and Jawonio, Inc.

“Over 56 percent of our production staff is made up of individuals that are traditionally underemployed, both within the Capital Region and the nation,” Gross said. “Our company’s success is built on the dedication and commitment to excellence that all of our team members bring to the table. You see, when you give someone a chance, treat them with the same respect that you would offer any employee, and provide them with the right support to do their jobs well, you will be amazed, and humbled, by what you get in return.”

“NYSID congratulates eBizDocs for being named Corporate Partner of the Year by the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber’s Tech Valley Nonprofit Business Council,” said Ron Romano, NYSID president and CEO. “eBizDocs embraces the full inclusion of people with disabilities and has successfully built partnerships with the nonprofit sector –– including NYSID, the Center for Disability Services and Jawonio –– that demonstrate visionary leadership in contributing significantly to the quality of life in the Tech Valley community.”
