Western New York Includes 11 Joslin Outstanding Performers

Eleven Western New Yorkers with disabilities are among 59 statewide Joslin Outstanding Performers recognized through New York State Industries for the Disabled, Inc’s. (NYSID) annual people-centered awards program.

The 2014 William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award co-recipients will be honored during NYSID’s Annual Meeting on Monday, September 8 at 5 p.m. at The Saratoga Hilton in Saratoga Springs. That evening, NYSID also will kick off its year-long celebration of the 40th anniversary of its founding.

In its 11th year, NYSID’s Joslin Awards Program has recognized 534 Outstanding Performers, and awarded 13 of those individuals with the final William B. Joslin Outstanding Performance Award.

The Outstanding Performers for 2014 from Western New York are:

  • Timothy Austin, Ontario County Chapter NYSARC, Inc./Pathways (Canandaigua), custodial
  • Marlena Bialy, Allegany County Chapter NYSARC, Inc./PWI (Wellsville), medical/testing kit assembly
  • Matt Case, Wayne Arc (Newark), custodial
  • David France, The Arc of Livingston‐Wyoming (Mt. Morris), custodial
  • Javis Harris, CDS Monarch/Unistel (Webster), packaging/material handling
  • David Johnson, Genesee County Chapter NYSARC, Inc. (Batavia), custodial
  • Mark Linden, Southeast Works, Inc. (Depew), custodial
  • Randy Peterson, Cattaraugus County Chapter NYSARC, Inc./The ReHabilitation Center (Olean), custodial
  • Jeffrey Schuster, Chautauqua County Chapter NYSARC, Inc./The Resource Center (Jamestown), custodial

NYSID’s annual Joslin Awards Program celebrates excellence in Preferred Source employment by New Yorkers with disabilities. All Outstanding Performers receive a certificate of achievement and cash award, and are featured in an annual yearbook.
