"It is NYSID's commitment to provide, at no cost to its members, quality training and essential business information that meets their needs in locations that are convenient to them"
Dear NYSID Members and Training & Information Program participants:
Are you a rehabilitation professional? Do you proactively seek ways to improve business operations? Do you take a forward-looking approach to your work? Do you help create job opportunities for New Yorkers with disabilities? Then TIP was developed for YOU!
NYSID’s Training & Information Program (TIP) provides cost-free, quality training and essential business information that assists our members and corporate business partners in creating leaders who will enable, inspire and empower their staff.
These sessions leverage enhanced strategies for management and staff development, emphasizing change through process improvement for both individual and organizational effectiveness.
Our comprehensive offerings encompass nearly 20 different topics, providing specialized knowledge designed to help you develop new products and services, comply with employment laws, increase productivity, engage employees, and much more.
By providing quality training and essential business information, NYSID supports the development of business models that can successfully navigate the procurement landscape.
Each year presents an opportunity to further align our offerings with industry demand for cutting-edge process improvements.
In the areas of Management and Leadership Development, new sessions include:
• Managing Staff Performance
• Navigating the Multigenerational Workforce
• Leadership Through Teamwork
Under our Staff Development offerings, we have included new sessions on: Mastering Difficult Conversations; Clearing Up the Mystery of Disabilities/Understanding Quality of Life Issues; and Dealing With Difficult Co-Workers.
In support of entrepreneurial ideas for veterans, we have added Boots-to-Business Reboot for Veterans. This session provides veterans an overview of business ownership as a career pathway, an outline and knowledge of the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition, and an introduction to available public and private resources.
These are just some of the new courses we are introducing in 2017. For more information about our offerings, please refer to our TIP Catalog or Events Listing above.
I look forward to seeing you at our Albany headquarters training facility or at one of the other regional TIP sessions hosted across New York State.
Let’s continue working together as we empower New Yorkers with disabilities through employment.
