Supervisory Skills – Performance Management I
           

 Objectives of the Course:

       
           
 
This half-day morning course will assist supervisors and managers with the ongoing process of performance management that includes performance planning, informal daily meetings and periodic formal performance interviews. The goals of performance management are to keep the lines of communication open between the supervisor and employee to effectively meet the needs of the business and to provide an avenue for employee development.

- to understand the difference between a performance management system and a performance appraisal
- to identify performance standards positions using job descriptions
- to develop effective SMART goals for unit and individual employees
- to follow clear standard procedure in conducting an appraisal interview
- how to solicit self-evaluation and self-measurement from the employee
- to increase the usefulness of the appraisal conversation in improving performance and achieving business goals
- to conduct performance appraisal meetings with high employee involvement

Ms. Lustenader is a certified SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources), CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), GRP (Global Remuneration Professional) and master trainer, as well as being a published author.
