Supervisory Skills – Performance Management II
           

 Objectives of the Course:

       
           
 
This half-day afternoon course is a continuation of the morning session and will focus on how to legally and effectively manage employee performance and work
rule discipline problems. The goal of positive discipline techniques is to change the behavior of employees who do not meet company standards. This session will assist supervisors and managers with the ongoing process of performance management that includes performance planning, informal daily meetings and periodic formal performance interviews.
 
         
         
 You will learn:        
         
 
- how to integrate daily coaching, periodic performance reviews and disciplinary action
- how to collect information and write an incident diary
- to use skills to help employees accept responsibility for their actions and behavior and work to change it
- how to keep a positive focus to disciplinary interviews
- how to choose between formal vs. informal counseling processes
- how to choose progressive discipline steps appropriate to the behavior
- how to use a 4-step model for discipline/performance coaching sessions
