New NYSID Distribution Program Takes to the Road
NYSID joined its new supply distributor Hill & Markes to announce our innovative strategic partnership to our statewide membership and customer network on Thursday, July 22 in Amsterdam, NY.
Local legislators, staff from both organizations and community stakeholders were among the crowd, with FLAME the band performing live for the first time in more than a year.
The new distribution collaboration will boost economic opportunities for New Yorkers with disabilities and bolster Hill & Markes’ product distribution efforts throughout the state.
The original NYSID business model was built on the production of commodities at our Member Agencies, hundreds of work sites around the state where individuals with disabilities fabricated and packaged products. As these individuals have become more engaged in competitive integrated employment, AND as warehousing and distribution of products across the state changed significantly, it was clear that NYSID's distribution program needed a new direction.
The NYSID-Hill & Markes partnership links two organizations that share a commitment to corporate social responsibility and are deeply involved in making New York State a better place to live and work. This includes sharing the same values of community engagement, employee appreciation and prioritization of individuals with disabilities.
