2021 State Government Agency Customer of the Year: NYS Office of General Services

The Preferred Source Program directly contributes to the employment and personal independence of countless New Yorkers with disabilities.

NYSID Member Agencies and their teams support all aspects of government operations and guarantee the necessary services that taxpayers depend on. One way they do this is by providing teams of custodians to maintain the cleanliness of OGS buildings throughout the state.

In accepting the Customer of the Year award during our Annual Meeting on October 26, OGS Chief Procurement Officer Sean Carroll summarized the spirit of collaboration among all involved:

“OGS serves as a regulator and an advocate, but tonight we celebrate our role as a customer. This award is especially meaningful after the past year we’ve had with the pandemic. In particular, the individuals who are part of our NYSID building maintenance program stepped up to the various challenges of the jobs.

While many people were working from home, our custodial staff were going to work, and they had to quickly adapt to change. They had to increase their cleaning protocols to keep the public and their workforce safe. They had to focus on high-touch areas, and do everything they do so well, but more frequently. And throughout this, they took pride in their work.

That’s why we so value the service quality and responsiveness that we get from our NYSID Member Agencies. We are extremely proud of supporting the success of individuals with disabilities.”

Thank you to the entire NYS Office of General Services for ensuring livelihoods for such deserving New Yorkers.
