Who Depicts What it Means to be Essential? Workers with Disabilities Do!

Today’s #ThankfulThursday recognizes the above-and-beyond efforts to satisfy customers exemplified by two NYSID Member Agencies and Corporate Partners collaborations.

We salute the team of custodians from Second Chance Opportunities and Green Facility Solution who are keeping the iconic Corning Tower building in downtown Albany safe for frontline government agency staff. These individuals were selected for a special “Tower COVID-19 Team” to secure doorways, keypads and other access points with heightened sanitizing and safety measures. One of them speaks for the work ethic of the team: “The chance to perform a duty that truly makes a difference really gives us a true sense of pride and personal fulfillment.”

We also acknowledge the document imaging team from Northeast Career Planning and SecureScan who are handling COVID and Paid Family Leave claims for the NYS Insurance Fund. The team has also taken on processing 100 boxes of court records for the Unified Court System site in Cattaraugus County.

Let’s not forget that safety products like hand sanitizers and gloves continue to be shipped from Member Agency production centers to NYSID’s warehouse.

At a time when “It takes a village” to satisfy our customers’ needs, NYSID extends its gratitude to workers with disabilities.
