Edwin Zitovsky Earns Arc of Steuben's Customer of the Year Award

His relationship with The Arc of Steuben began nine years ago when he sent the agency an apparel decorating job for the New Hyde Park Unified School District. The following year, he added another, larger order from the Baldwin Unified School District. In subsequent years, Edwin has added more customers and sent The Arc of Steuben more work for its screen print and embroidery department.

Edwin's account topped $250,000 in sales for The Arc of Steuben in 2012. Not only was that his biggest sales year for The Arc of Steuben, it also marked the first time he came to visit the agency. Edwin was thrilled to meet all the people who decorated the apparel he sent their way, and his enthusiasm energized the staff!

He now attends school district meetings to discuss the advantages of purchasing apparel through NYSID; his goal for the next two to five years is to raise NYSID sales for schools on Long Island up to $500,000 a year.

"Edwin has been an asset to our screen print and embroidery department. He has a wealth of energy and perseverance in continuing to add many customers for apparel decorating jobs," said Bernie Burns, The Arc of Steuben's executive director. "Edwin currently has more than 20 schools on Long Island purchasing apparel from The Arc of Steuben through NYSID. When he visited our facility, he was thrilled to meet everyone who decorates the apparel, and his enthusiasm energized us all. We are honored to present him with the Customer of the Year Award."

The Arc of Steuben has been associated with NYSID through the Preferred Source Program for more than 30 years. It has four businesses that teach job skills essential to employment in a community setting: screen printing and embroidery, janitorial service, food service and industrial solutions.
