NYSID Marketing Manager

Brian Bateman is the Marketing Manager for NYSID. Since 2004, Brian has focused his professional energy to helping NYSID member agencies develop more product and service business opportunities, leading to more jobs for New Yorkers with disabilities. He markets NYSID members’ products and services, employing online resources, video and print media. Brian also manages the NYSID CREATE program (Cultivating Resources for Employment with Assistive Technology), which gives student engineers the opportunity to develop new assistive technologies that improve vocational lives for workers at NYSID member agencies. He facilitates Business Development Forums each year for NYSID members across the state, suggesting new avenues for job creation through modern business practices.

Now is an excellent time to diversify our offerings, as well as our markets! With so much uncertainty on our future, we want to multiply the baskets that hold our eggs. Unpredictable factors like increasing minimum wages, political opposition to workshops and the threat of an end to commensurate wages should not cause rehabilitation industries to hold back new development but, instead, should serve as the impetus to become more entrepreneurial.  

Join us for a Business Development Forum, as we discuss ways to multiply our income sources and increase job opportunities for the people we serve. We will study what others are doing to diversify their offerings and markets, and we will brainstorm ways for us to do the same—for both private and public sectors. We will also discuss strategies for communicating with our various audiences through email, social media, video and more.
